TEGAM Achieves ATEX Approval Certificate
Posted March 15, 2011
Advanced Energy's TEGAM has received a Product Quality Assurance Notification (PQAN) from UL Demko under Annex VII of Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX) of the European Parliament. This notification is documentation of TEGAM’s capability to manufacture products for application in potentially hazardous environments under an approved Quality System. TEGAM pursued this PQAN as part of its plan to produce the R1L-E2A microohmmeter acquired from PPM Instruments last year. Advanced Energy's TEGAM is in the process of updating the R1L-E2A Type Certificate from the older standards in the 50000 series to the newer 60079 series. According to CEO Andy Brush, “The PQAN is the first step in a plan for TEGAM to field a range of ATEX products to customers needing microohmmeters, thermometers, calibrators, and impedance meters for use in potentially hazardous environments.”
